Description

You’re seen Anglo-Saxon and Germanic Europe. Next comes Romantic Europe, so called because the Romance languages of Italiano and Francais are spoken  here.

Passing through the constant humidity and fog of Il Italiano Alpi, we cruised by gondola along the Canale Grand in Venezia with two new acquaintances, we visited the inside of Cattedrale di San Marco and shopped at Murano Vecchio. Driving along the length of Il Appennino, we soon arrived in Roma, where Joyce and I dined at the famous Restaurante Minos.

In the Eternal City, we took in all the ancient sights, including ll Colosseo, Basilica San Pietro and Museo Vaticano, before heading out to Giardidi di Tivoli and dining at Restaurante Monteripoli.

In Firenze, we marveled at Michelangelo's masterpieces in Galleria del Accademia and visited Basilica di Santa Croce before continuing to Pisa and its famous "Leaning Tower."

Along the Rivera, we visited at Casino Nouveau in Monte Carlo, swam in the Mediterranean and hiked through the hill village of St. Paul de Vence, before crossing L’alpe Francais into France.

Are there enough fantastic places to visit in this superlative country? The answer is an unqualified YES, and then some.

In succession, my wife and I did the Parisian historic district itself, la Cathedrale de Notre Dame de Paris, Tour Eiffel and its Seconde Livello. We dined at Palais Odeon, saw every sight at la Chateau du Versailles, did much the same at Musee du Louvre and said farewell to Europe with a private dinner at a fine restaurant in Paris.

I ended by exclaiming a resounding, “Ou, la, la,” before my wife and I departed from Paris Orly.

Once again, the author might remind everyone, if nothing else, this publication is a lesson in conversational European with its nomenclature in ITALICS.

And again, each of the following photographs were made with an archaic 35 mm SLR camera. Without the benefit of modern high definition technology, the author has tried to compensate using BAT photograph editing software.

This proves the case when one rolls down the autobahn at 100 MPH or even faster while hardly having the opportunity at selecting a faster shutter speed.
